SUMMARY:SOAH Film Festival: A Fantastic Woman
DESCRIPTION:Watch the film A Fantastic Woman on Saturday January 24th at 4:
30 PM at the Cinema Arts Theater.   This screening is part of the Speak
Out Against Hate (SOAH) Hate Has No Home Here Film Festival.\n\nA Fantasti
c Woman is a powerful Chilean drama that follows Marina\, a young transgen
der woman and aspiring singer whose life is shattered by the sudden death
of her older partner\, Orlando. Instead of being allowed to mourn\, Marina
is met with deep-seated hostility and suspicion from Orlando’s family a
nd the authorities\, who view her identity with contempt and attempt to er
ase her from his life. As she is barred from his funeral and evicted from
their home\, the film transforms into a resilient character study of a wom
an fighting for her right to grieve and exist with dignity. Guided by a lu
minous performance from Daniela Vega and a blend of gritty realism and sur
real imagery\, the film serves as both a heartbreaking intimate portrait a
nd a defiant demand for human empathy.\n\n[embed]https://www.youtube.com/w
