DESCRIPTION:The May Pride Speaker Series will address intimate partner viol
 ence in the queer community. Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)\, also known 
 as domestic violence\, partner abuse\, or dating violence\, refers to the 
 various means of control used by an abuser against their partner in an int
 imate relationship. Approximately 7 million lesbian\, gay\, bisexual and t
 ransgender people have experienced intimate partner violence. 56.3% of les
 bian women experienced intimate partner violence in their lifetime. 69.3% 
 of bisexual women experienced intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
