DESCRIPTION:You're invited to an engaging and informative evening on August
  29th to learn about the Our Whole Lives (OWL) program\, a comprehensive s
 exuality education course designed for 7th-9th graders. This fall\, we're 
 excited to offer this empowering program to our community\, and we want yo
 u to be a part of it! If you are already signed up for OWL then this is a 
 great way to meet other families and see friends!\n\nWhat to Expect:\n\n 	
 Pizza and Potluck: Bring a dish to share\, and enjoy a delicious meal with
  fellow attendees.\n 	Break-out Sessions: Dive into meaningful discussions
  about the program and its benefits.\n 	Childcare Provided: We've got you

 OWL\n\nOur Whole Lives (OWL) is a comprehensive sexuality course that aims
  to help students make informed and responsible decisions about their sexu
 al health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate\, age-appropr
 iate information in many subject areas: human development\, gender identit
 y\, relationships\, sexual behavior\, sexual health\, consent\, and societ
 y and culture. The OWL program helps participants clarify their values\, b
 uild interpersonal skills\, and understand the spiritual\, emotional\, and
  social aspects of sexuality. Our Whole Lives covers topics and skills tha
 t both parents and students want to have available\, but schools are less 
 likely to cover.\n\nOur Whole Lives uses approaches that work\, based on t
 he Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education produced by the Nation
 al Guidelines Task Force\, a group of leading health\, education\, and sex
 uality professionals assembled by the Sexuality Information and Education 
 Council of the United States (SIECUS).\n\nCourse Details\n\nOur Whole Live
 s is designed for 7th – 9th graders(in the 2024-25 school year).  The 
 program at UUSD will be led by trained adult OWL facilitators and is based
  on 90-minute sessions maintained by the Unitarian Universalist Associatio
 n. Regular attendance is required to provide the necessary foundation for 
 the course’s more intimate subjects and create group trust. Students can
  miss no more than three classes in order to continue in and graduate from
