SUMMARY:World AIDS Day 2026: Persistent Voices
DESCRIPTION:Save the Date!  Join us for a very special observance of World
  AIDS Day taking place at the Listening Booth from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  P
 oet and storyteller Rev. Carla Christopher will host a  tribute to the ma
 ny artists whose careers were cut-short by AIDS.   The night will featur
 e poetry\, music\, and stories of some of the amazing artists we lost to t

  ground-breaking anthology: Persistent Voices: Poetry by Writers Lost to A
 IDS\, edited by Philip Clark and David Groff.  From Reinaldo Arenas\, To
 ry Dent\, and James Merrill to Paul Monette\, Essex Hemphill\, and Joe Bra
 inard\, Persistent Voices memorializes these poets and many others by pres
 enting their work—often dealing with AIDS but also written on other endu
 ring topics—in the context of an unending epidemic that has profoundly a
 ffected our literature.\n\nJoin us for a night of community\, poetry\, mus
 ic\, food\, and most importantly\, remembrance as we come together to refl
 ect on the profound impact HIV/AIDS has had in our community.\n\nThis even
 t is free and open to the public and registration will be required.  Regi
 stration will go live in November.  Seating will be limited for this even
 t.   This event is made possible with the support of Highmark Health Opt
