Lewes Public Library Spoken Word Society hosts a second staged reading of local playwright Jeffrey Dailey’s work “An Angel with Flowers; Broadway Bound in 2017 BC [Before Covid-19].” It tells a compelling story of a local Lewes couple’s interest in a painting that seems to hold a mystical attraction for one of them. They develop a friendship with the painter and in time learn of his secrets and of their own – leading to a surprising and moving twist in their lives.

The author will be on hand to answer questions and listen to suggestions and criticisms as an important part of the creative process.

Playwright Jeffrey Dailey’s pieces have garnered attention both in D.C. and in NYC. His piece “Winter and Summer in May” was given a reading and a workshop with “New Playwrights of D.C.” and was held under contract at NYC’s Circle in the Square. His one-act plays “Pola and Max”, “Bus 2021”, and “Barnaby & Newnipurr” have been used many times for acting workshops at the Herbert Berghof studio in Greenwich Village in NYC.

Friday March 31st at 7:00 PM at the Lewes Public Library.  Seating is limited and registration is required.
