Gay Women of Rehoboth present Musician Erin McKeown and Comedian Karen Williams will bring much needed story telling, comic relief, support for the LGBTQ community and a fun hysterical evening! The night will also include a screening of the film Radical Harmonies. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Film screening begins at 5:30 PM.
Erin McKeown (they/them) is a musician, writer, and producer known internationally for their prolific disregard of stylistic boundaries. Their brash and clever electric guitar playing is something tosee. Their singing voice is truly unique —clear, cool, and collected. Over the last 20 years, they have performed around the world, released 11 full length albums, and written for film, television, and theater, all the while refining their distinctive and challenging mix of American musical forms.
Karen Williams is known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary and audience rapport, Williams is a comic craftmaster, a gifted actor, a multitalented writer, and an inspirational lecturer. Armed with her “heal with humor” philosophy, she gives humor workshops specifically designed to build self-awareness and self-confidence, and to encourage tolerance and respect for the dignity of human life.
Radical Harmonies (2002) is an 88-minute documentary produced and directed by Academy AwardTM nominee Dee Mosbacher. It chronicles the evolution of the history of a movement that became known as Women’s Music (mostly lesbian) through festival and performance footage, interviews, and archival material from the 1960s to the 1990s. Co-producer Dr. Boden Sandstrom PhD will introduce the film and have a Q&A following
