Carla Christopher (they/she) is an ordained ELCA Lutheran pastor who also holds standing in the United Church of Christ (UCC). Currently the part-time pastor of Community Lutheran Church in Frankford, DE and part-time Assistant to the Bishop for Justice Ministries for DE-MD Synod, ELCA.
Carla came to ministry through a winding road of social worker turned community organizer turned diversity – equity – inclusion – accessibility – belonging (DEIA/B) trainer turned clergy. A recent transplant from Pennsylvania, where Carla co-founded Equality Fest, which became York Pride and the Rainbow Rose Center, and served on the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs.
Carla is excited to bring her passion for interfaith and ecumenical spaces of welcome and a love of creative liturgy to the diverse team that makes up Sussex Pride Faith. More about Carla can be found at CarlaChristopher.org.
