Speaker Bio

Vienna Cavazos (they/them) is a Gen Z activist and organizer fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights, gun violence prevention, voting rights, and mental health advocacy. Originally from San Antonio, TX, Vienna and their family relocated to Delaware in 2022 after Texas moved to criminalize gender-affirming care for trans youth.

In Delaware, Vienna became deeply involved in advocacy to ensure no one else would be forced to flee their home due to anti-trans legislation. They quickly connected with local organizing groups, developing a passion for civic engagement and community-led change. Vienna is especially committed to centering youth voices in movement spaces and empowering young people to engage directly with lawmakers at Legislative Hall.

Vienna has led campaigns for trans rights at the state and national level, youth “Get Out the Vote” efforts for the 2024 election, and youth organizer training programs. In 2025, at age 19, Governor Meyer appointed them as Vice-Chair of Delaware’s LGBTQ+ Commission, making them the youngest member on the Commission.

Alongside their role on the Commission, Vienna serves as Hub Coordinator for Generation Vote in Sussex County, National LGBTQIA+ Public Policy Director at Bulletproof Pride, and Co-Facilitator for Trans Refuge Now. Their work focuses on the intersections of democracy, gun violence prevention, youth organizing, and LGBTQIA+ justice.

Coming from a working-class Latine family, Vienna believes that a better tomorrow is not only possible, it’s worth fighting for.
