New Castle County Pride is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web & Social Media Editor to keep our local LGBTQ+ community connected, informed, and engaged. You will manage and grow our online presence, curate high-impact visual content, and ensure our events stays up to date.
This position can be done remotely with a strong preference for someone that lives in New Castle County. This position can be an ongoing volunteer opportunity or an internship for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Management: Maintain and update the New Castle County Pride website, including publishing articles events. Ensure at least 1 new community event is posted to the website calendar per week, keeping event listings clear and accurate.
- Social Media Management: Oversee content strategy and publishing across our official Instagram account and Facebook page.
- Visual Content Creation: Design promotional graphics, event flyers, and social posts aligned with our brand guidelines.
- Community Engagement: Monitor comments, direct messages, and posts on social platforms to foster a welcoming online environment.
Useful Skills
- WordPress: Practical experience navigating WordPress to update pages, upload media, and manage posts.
- Canva: Proficiency in Canva to design social media graphics, banners, and digital flyers.
- Social Media Strategy: Familiarity with best practices for Instagram and Facebook (hashtags, visual aesthetic, timing, story/reels formats).
- Communication: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an inclusive tone.
- Passion for Community: A commitment to supporting and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community in New Castle County.
