Join us for the next Sussex Pride Aging Meeting. This is a working meeting for those looking to provide support for LGBTQ+ older adults in Sussex County. The group typically meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 12:00 PM via Zoom.
This month we will be exploring the topic of housing for LGBTQ+ Older Adults in Delaware. We will be joined by:
- Dr. Imani Woody and Rozanne Look: The President and Vice-President of Mary’s House in Washington DC, an affordable communal living space for LGBTQ+ Older Adult. Dr. Woody and Rozanne will share a little about how they built Mary’s House, and lessons they learned along the way.
- Susan Davis: a community organizer with Housing Alliance Delaware. Susan will talk about JumpStart Sussex, an exciting new initiative to mentor Delawareans who want to create affordable housing and link them to experienced developers and investors.
- David Rohrbaugh and Warren Munroe, David & Warren own property in Harbeson and have expressed interest in creating LGBTQ+ Senior Housing on their land. They will share some of the challenges they’ve encountered in this process.
Our final invited guest is Sussex County Council member Jane Gruenebaum, who will be traveling, but will join us if she is able.
