HIV affects all people, but some communities have been particularly hard hit.   Here in Delaware, Black people make up about 22.2% of the population, however they make up 56.9% percent of those living with HIV and 65.6% of those newly diagnosed with HIV in 2019.  (see more data here)

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) is an HIV testing and treatment community mobilization initiative for Black people in the United States and across the Diaspora.

There are four specific focal points: Get Educated, Get Tested, Get Involved, and Get Treated. Find out more at: www.nationalblackaidsday.org.  If you would like to help organize a National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Event in Sussex County, please e-mail info@sussexpride.org.
