June 5 is HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day (HLTSAD ). First observed in 2014, it’s a day to honor long-term survivors of HIV and raise awareness about their needs, issues, and journeys.
The 2022 theme is “Mobilize to Thrive: Prioritizing Quality of Life.” This call to action encourages people to celebrate the strength and resiliencies of people living longest with HIV. It also serves to highlight current challenges, and create changes to help prioritize, and improve the quality of life for long-term survivors and older adults with HIV.
