Different people may use these words in different ways. The bisexual activist Robyn Ochs defines bisexuality as “the potential to be attracted—romantically and/or sexually—to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the same time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree.”
Pansexuality is sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people of all genders, or regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people might refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.
We are just beginning to learn how best to support Delaware’s Bisexual & Pansexual community. If you have thoughts or suggestions, please email bipan@sussexpride.org.
