Sussex Pride has had the opportunity to collaborate with many different community organizations including Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Sports Teams, Social Groups, Churches and Faith Based Organizations. If you are an organization interested in supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Sussex County, here are some ways we can potentially work together.
Invite us to your next gathering
We are always looking for opportunities to connect with community. If your group is having a happy hour or any type of event and you can give us a few minutes to speak or space to set up a table, let us know. We’d love to connect with your group and let them know more about the work we do.
Collect supplies for unhoused Youth
We will be partnering with the University of Delaware this year for our new Housing Initiative. We will be accepting donations of: Winter Essentials (Hats, Gloves, Socks, Hand Warmers, Chapstick) Hygiene Products (Shampoo, Hand Sanitizer, Wet Wipes, Deodorant, Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Tissues, Menstrual Hygiene Products) Food (Water Bottles, Protein or Granola Bars) Health (First AID Kits, Gallon Zip Lock Bags, Re-usable Grocery Bags).
Include your LGBTQ+ events on our community calendar
We are stronger when we are working together. Sussex Pride wants to help get the word out about your organization’s events that are of interest to the LGBTQ+ community. We prioritize events that are of specific interest to the LGBTQ+ community, and are free or charitable in nature. Submit your events to info@sussexpride.org to be listed on our website. Please send the information at least 10 days prior to your event.
Support Sussex Pride
The Nemours Employee Resource Group celebrated the holidays by giving back to the community. Employees raised money to support our Youth Program at Sussex Pride. We set up a customized fundraising page for their group, and they raised $330! If you would like us to set up an online fundraising page for your group, let us know! You can set the funds aside for a specific program or initiative of Sussex Pride.
Take some #SussexPrideShots
Pride Shots, our online photo gallery, is one of the most popular sections of our website. You can help us out (and promote your organization) by submitting photos of LGBTQ+ community events. Chances are, we will want to feature your event on our website. We need a minimum of eight usable photos from the same event. We request high resolution photos (you can submit by email, drop box, or google drive), and horizontal photos (not vertical) work best for our format.

Sometimes, groups prefer to donate tangible items rather than money. We’ve got you covered. Check our our amazon wish list to see some items we currently need: click here to see our amazon wish list.
Tickets are amazing
Does your group have a special event coming up? Donating tickets is always a great way for us to partner up. We can help promote your event, and we can benefit from your ticket donation. We may use tickets for a youth outing with Sussex Pride Youth (if it is an age appropriate event, of course), we may give the tickets to a worthy Sussex Pride Volunteer to show our appreciation, or we may even raffle them off as a fundraiser.
Request volunteers or volunteer for Sussex Pride
If you are in need of volunteers for an upcoming LGBTQ+ community event, let us know and we’ll help get the word out on our website and our Sussex Pride Volunteers Facebook Page. In turn, if you have a group of people interested in volunteering, let us know by emailing volunteeer@sussexpride.org. We will have lots of volunteer needs this year.
