LGBTQ Youth Scholarships and Fellowships in Delaware

There are a growing number of scholarships and fellowships for LGBTQ Youth around the country.   Below are some resources specific to Delaware, as well as some national resources.   If you know of a scholarship or fellowship that should be added to this list, please send those updates to info@camprehoboth.com.

Rehoboth Beach Bears Scholarship
Founded in 2017, the Rehoboth Beach Bears Scholarship Program makes awards available to graduating seniors who are a part of their high school’s Gay Straight Alliance organization, and are seeking to further their education. These awards may be used to help fund any part of the recipient’s post-secondary education expenses.  Awards have typically been $1,000.   Find out more at www.rehobothbeachbears.com.

Washington Blade Steve Elkins Fellowship
The Steve Elkins Memorial Fellowship: Founded in 2018, The Steve Elkins Memorial Fellowship is named in honor of Steve Elkins, a journalist and co-founder of the CAMP Rehoboth LGBT community center. The fellow covers issues of interest to the LGBTQ community of Delaware during the summer months.  Fellowships typically run for 12 weeks May thru August and come with a $2,000 stipend.  Find out more at www.bladefoundation.org/fellowships.

CAMP Rehoboth Fay Jacobs Scholarship Fund
The CAMP Rehoboth Fay Jacobs Scholarship award is awarded to a junior or senior high school student in Delaware to pursue higher education.   The inaugural scholarship will be a writing competition and the scholarship will be $500.  For more information visit camprehoboth.com/fayjacobs.

Point Foundation (National)
Point Foundation is a scholarship fund that provides financial aid for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer college aspiring individuals in the United States.  For more information visit www.pointfoundation.org.
