On June 15th, President Biden signed a historic Executive Order advancing LGBTQ+ rights during Pride Month. This Order directs federal agencies to take new steps to protect and support LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, including:
- Addressing harmful legislative state legislative attacks against children and families
- Preventing so-called “conversation therapy”
- Safeguarding health care and preventing youth suicide
- Launching a new initiative to protect foster youth and prevent homelessness
This Executive Order builds on the progress we have made in advancing equality. CenterLink applauds these actions, and we continue to work alongside our LGBTQ+ community center members and national partners in supporting the Administration’s efforts to bring equality to all Americans.
