New Women’s Motorcycle Club

Dykes on Bikes®, the internationally recognized women’s motorcycle contingent that has led Pride parades and advanced LGBTQ+ visibility since 1976, approved its newest chapter in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

As the latest addition to this nearly 50-year legacy that spans continents—from Melbourne to Munich, London to Los Angeles, the Delaware Chapter brings the organization’s mission of empowerment, resistance, and queer women’s visibility to one of the East Coast’s most iconic LGBTQ+ destinations.

Dykes on Bikes® was born in San Francisco when a group of lesbians showed up on motorcycles to lead the city’s Pride parade. No one asked them to. They just did it. And something clicked—for the crowd, for the movement, and for queer people who had never seen lesbians so visible, so strong, so unapologetically front and center.

They weren’t trying to perform. They were trying to belong.

Since then, Dykes on Bikes® has grown into an international symbol of resistance, freedom, and community. With chapters around the world, we are proudly lesbian-led, fiercely inclusive, and committed to standing at the front—not for recognition, but for protection.

Dykes on Bikes® Rehoboth Beach Women’s Motorcycle Contingent. Our mission is to empower and unite lesbian + queer women motorcyclists, LGBTQ+ and women’s causes through philanthropy, Rides, supporting local communities, PRIDE events, and education.
