Support and amplify the voices of LGBTQ voices on the ground. If you’ve been watching the news you’ve probably seen some inaccurate information flying around, including descriptions of people’s identities and pronouns. One of the best things you can do is to listen to and amplify the voices of the people that are on the ground. Here are some ways you can do that.
Donate if you can to support the survivors. A lot of donation links have been flying around on the internet. We encourage you to donate to the organizations in Colorado Springs doing the work, One Colorado and Inside Out Youth Services. Another great option is the Colorado Healing Fund. This established fund, which is currently raising money to support survivors
Take Action for Gun Safety. Gun Violence impacts all of us. In an average year here in Delaware, 111 people die by guns. If you wan to action on this issue, aA great place to start is Every Town for Gun Safety.
Be there for your friends who may need support. Incidents like this affect everyone differently. This is a great time to check in with your LGBTQ+ friends and see how they are doing. Many resources are available if people need help.
