The Delaware Healthcare Association has released a 2022 Health Equity Report. The Delaware Healthcare Association (DHA) was formed in 1967 to assist Delaware hospitals in working on issues concerning health care and the hospital industry.
President Wayne Smith stated: “Advancing health equity is a top priority for all our members. Our members are in alignment in believing hospitals have a key role in ensuring every person can obtain the health care they need without bias, without discrimination, and with equal access to the health resources and
information that will enable all to achieve their best possible health.”
The DHA Board adopted a resolution ‘Achieving Health Equity: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement
and Agreement’ approximately one year ago. Included in this statement is the commitment to treat everyone in a dignified and respectful manner regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression.
